PsychMed has been awarded Adelaide PHN’s 2020 Primary Health Care Award for “Outstanding achievement in health promotion and early intervention services during COVID-19”. This year’s recognition focused on providers and practices who went above and beyond to support their communities throughout the pandemic.
PsychMed’s strategies included awareness and healthy isolation resources for early intervention to address the unique effects of COVID-19.
“We are honoured to have received the 2020 Primary Health Care Award, especially during this challenging year. Keeping our community safe during lockdown was our priority, lessening the burden of COVID-related mental health issues at this critical period” says Dr. Quentin Black, Managing Director at PsychMed.
This comes as an addition to our previous first prize award in 2019 (MATRIX Program – Outstanding achievement in improving access and equity) and two awards in 2017 (Outstanding achievement in innovation in service delivery and collaboration for integration). These awards have been achieved by introducing the intensive therapeutic program MATRIX in Australia and excellence in APHN’s funded specialist suicide prevention services in collaboration with Anglicare SA.
The 2020 winners have received professional development scholarships to continue to build team and service capacity.
