About the Role

Working as a PsychMed manager you will be required to enforce policies and procedures set out by the board of directors and work collaboratively with senior management, administrative officers, allied health practitioners and external providers.

The PsychMed Location Manager will have the opportunity to provide comprehensive administrative to maintain quality care for the community and work closely with both Regional Manager and Business Manager. You will be autonomous in your oversight of the location clinic including the line management of the admin team, liaison with clinicians, and maintaining key performance indicators. In addition, you will be involved in the following tasks:

  • Design and implement efficient processes as directed to ensure the effective running of business operations
  • Providing comprehensive information to consumers contacting PsychMed and handling feedback in a discrete and prompt manner
  • Attend and participate in team meetings held by the senior management team
  • Obtain quotations or cost by applying a detailed knowledge of costs, margins, market conditions, supply, and delivery arrangements
  • Evaluate and supervise reception staff performance, including preparing performance review paperwork, and engaging in disciplinary measures
  • Resourcing of clinic rooms and infrastructure in an economic and efficient manner
  • Liaise with general practitioners and external providers when required to ensure that services are being met
  • Recording and maintaining key performance indicators of the clinic
  • Liaise with clinicians and other staff to report sick and recreational leave and fill shifts in collaboration with senior management

The successful applicant will demonstrate high proficiency in organisation skills while having an empathetic and patient manner with the diverse clientele we service. A positive can-do attitude is crucial in this autonomous position while leading a team of admin officers and enforcing disciplinary measures when necessary, in addition, you will have:

  • Experience within a healthcare environment
  • Line management experience
  • Preference is given to individuals with tertiary level healthcare or management qualifications (honours level)
  • Highly developed organisation and time management skills
  • Ability to work autonomously and problem solve
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Extensive knowledge of IT skills including Excel and medical record-keeping systems
