PsychMed works predominantly in the psychology space, but we are always looking at ways to innovate our services and promote good mental health and wellbeing in the community by trying new things and expanding into different spaces. As such, you’ll now find a remedial massage therapist at our clinic in Gilles Plains.

Remedial massage is an excellent way to practice self-care, relieve physical pain and promote relaxation and wellbeing.

What is Remedial Massage?

Remedial massage aims to assist the body’s natural recovery process by locating and treating muscles that may be damaged, tense, knotted, or immobile. Muscular issues may trigger secondary pain in other parts of the body, often impairing functioning and impacting quality of life.  Qualified therapists use an array of techniques to locate and target the original source of the problem, often improving the initial issue and resulting symptoms.

  •       Flush chemicals out the body that cause muscles to tighten
  •       Improve body posture and restore the correct position of bones
  •       Assist with draining lymph fluid
  •       Aid recovery time in athletes
